Our environment guarantee

We want you to be able to enjoy your Ploß & Co. garden furniture with a clear conscience. That’s why we have developed and defined clear standards regarding sustainable cultivation and processing of our woods in the countries where they are grown.
As a specialist importer, we are responsible for the ecological use of cultivated teak in particular. We take this responsibility very seriously. We thus focus our attention on nature and on the local people. We have travelled extensively to find out about the origins of the woods, their use and about local working conditions.

We update and check this information in person several times a year.

The following principles are crucial when deciding whether to import an item of furniture:

· 100% of the teak used is plantation-grown.
· All the plantations are supervised and monitored by the government.
· The teak is used in an ecologically-compatible manner through a sustainable forest
  management  programme.
· The woods are made into furniture in the country in which they are grown. The value-
   added thus stays within the country.
· We support projects for environmentally-responsible plantation management
  and also provide furniture made from FSC-certified wood – subject to availability.  
· We do not accept child labour.
